Yet they triumphed, and now the treasure is almost within their grasp. Just one last set of obstacles. Reanimated corpses? No problem. Giant spiders? Please. Angry wraiths that haunt them from all sides? Okay, they might have a problem with those. But as stated earlier, their greed knows no bounds.
They finally reach the last room. A pile of gold awaits them. They’ll buy just about everything they ever dreamed of.
Just a little problem. This gold was left alone for a reason. It’s cursed. Because of course it is.
It’s not apparent at first. But after a while, anything that had any sort of relationship with the gold brings misfortune.
Their castles? Infested, haunted, with no added value to speak of. Their retainers? Spies who want to assassinate them. Their winery? Debt everywhere.
