It’s a perfect location for the party to be ambushed by creatures who have been stealing the farmer’s produce or perhaps it can work the other way around and the party has to spring a trap to catch the pesky monsters that have been stealing every night.
Another hook is to have the party happen upon a group of thugs offering “protection” to the poor family that lives here and they have to put an end to it. Or maybe an even a stranger situation where the party has learned that this particular produce has been making the people from the town go berserk or have some kind of illness and so they have to set off and investigate what the deal is.
